No product can be LEED Certified; Certification is only granted to the entire building or interior. A project is LEED Certified by qualifying for credits that accrue when environmentally and materially sound choices are made in the design and building process. Specifying Emeco products can contribute to credits for the rating systems LEED BD+C and LEED ID+C, including:

WELL v2
The WELL Building Standard® is one of the leading tools for advancing health and wellbeing in buildings globally, measuring the wholistic impact of all materials and design of a building on both the environment and the wellbeing of human use across a series of metrics. Specifying Emeco products can contribute to a number of Concepts and Features, including:
Concept: Materials
This category addresses the selection of materials and finishes in building interiors. Furniture materials and finishes can be chosen to meet criteria related to sustainability, low toxicity, and environmental responsibility.

Concept: Innovation
This category paves the way for projects to develop unique strategies for creating healthier environments, including carbon disclosure and reduction to reduce emissions from greenhouse gases to slow the global rise in temperature.

LEED v4.1 - Rating systems BD + C and ID+C
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a division of the US Green Building Council, a government sponsored organization whose goal is to promote environmentalism in the building industry. This summary outlines how Emeco products contribute to LEED v4.1, specifically to the rating systems Building Design and Construction (BD+C) and Interior Design and Construction (ID+C).
CREDIT CATEGORY: MATERIALS AND RESOURCES
> Sourcing of Raw Materials:
Specifying Emeco furniture contributes to this credit in terms of Recycled Content because all of our products contain recycled content*. Emeco aluminum furniture is made from at least 80% recycled aluminum, which in turn is endlessly recyclable. Emeco plastic seating is made from recycled PET or reclaimed polypropylene, both of which are in turn recyclable. Please refer to the individual product to confirm percentage. Based on the location of the project, and distance from Hanover, Pennsylvania, specifying Emeco products may also help credit achievement calculation for local sourcing.

Specifying any Emeco product contributes to this credit in terms of material disclosure. All our products have Health Product Declarations, HPDs, disclosed to 1000 ppm*. HPDs are published in our Downloads Library .

Emeco products can contribute in a variety of ways, specifically through our VOC testing that complies with ANSI/BIFMA e3-2019e, Sections 7.6.1, 7.6.2, 7.6.3 and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Standard Method v1.2: Private Office and School Classroom. VOC Certificates are published in our Downloads Library.

> Construction and Demolition Waste Management:
Emeco offers the ability to recycle and reuse of furniture at end of life, although we expect a lengthy lifetime of our products, which may contribute to both Diversion and Waste Prevention. Emeco uses 100% recyclable shipping and packing materials. The above may also contribute to rating system LEED O+M, Credit Waste Performance.

CONCEPT: THERMAL COMFORT
Furniture selection plays a significant role in providing ergonomic and comfortable seating and workspaces, which can contribute to occupant well-being. Points may be awarded for the use of ergonomically designed furniture and adjustable seating.
